The first question when analysing shark attack data is knowing when the attack occured. Did it occur in the morning, mid day, evening or night? Do shark attacks only occur in the early morning hours? Knowing this information could influence times of the day to enter the ocean.

Every incident involved an interaction between a human and a shark. Names, gender and ages are provided.

How many attacks were fatal? How many were not? Are the majority of shark attacks fatal? Do some areas have more fatalities than others? Dig into the information to find the results.

The first time the app is run it will need to read all the shark attack files and import them into the database. That's over 6,500 records to be checked for accuracy and readied for your access. So, it will take a few moments for the app to start the first time it is run.
If any data is incorrect the information can easily be updated. This new information is only kept on your mobile device and is not shared.
Simply swipe down to check for any updates. New shark attack incidents will be merged in with your existing records.
If latitude and longitude information is available then the shark attack incident can be pinned on a map.
Sharks will always have a prescence in the ocean but that doesn't mean we can't share the ocean with them. Knowing the facts about previous shark attacks can educate us to the hazzards of certain coastal areas. Maybe some areas are safer than others? Or maybe there are certain times of the day or year when attacks are more likely. Have access to this information.
